This web page provides estimates of the burden of influenza (flu) in the United States for the 2023-2024 flu season. The overall burden of influenza (flu) for the 2023-2024 flu season was an estimated 40 million flu-related illnesses, 18 million flu-related medical visits, 470,000 flu-related hospitalizations, and 28,000 flu-related deaths.

Background
